Modi’s govt is a transparent govt- Chowna Mein

The Dy Chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh Chowna Mein today stated that the central Govt led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a transparent govt which is the result of his personal initiative by making optimum use of Information Technology and Social Media in the Governing system. Under his leadership, Govt has become more transparent and witness drastic reduction in corruption over the last 3 years of the BJP Govt in the centre.

 Further Mr Mein said that the State Govt under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu is also following the same trend and there has been many initiatives taken by the State Govt to reduce corruption in the State to which all the Ministers, MLAs and Govt Departments should adhere to, he said.

Mr Main stated this, during an interaction meeting with the Department of Good Governance and Centre State Coordination of State BJP and discussed about all the ‘Flagship’ Projects and Schemes implemented by the Public Works Department in the State in his Official Residence here today.

Mein said that the objective of good governance can be achieved with the combined efforts from all quarters and in this regard, Central – State relations hold an important aspect of the good governance.

He said that the Department of Good Governance and Central State Coordination is a vital department which would help to foster coordination and build relations between the Central and the State Govt.

He lauded the initiative of the Bharatiya Janata Party to keep an eye on the working of the State Govt which would also help the State Govt functionaries to remain alert and to function effectively.

 This department will also serve as a medium of communication between the Centre and the State Govt, he added and urged the Convener and the Co-Convener of the Party department to fill up the gaps wherever requires.

He also informed that the PWD department has already been instructed long back to gear up and to carry out restoration works of roads and bridges on war footing that was damaged by landslides and floods over the last few months across the State.

Techi Khasso, Parliamentary Secretary for PWD said that since the State of Arunachal Pradesh is a resource crunch State, it needs more support and financial assistance from the Centre to cope up with the calamities caused by landslides and floods and for carrying out restoration works in the State. He requested the Central Team to visit the State during the occurrence of such calamities to see for themselves the ground realities and the difficulties faced by the people.

Highlighting the purpose of creating Good Governance and Centre-State Coordination Department by the State BJP, R K Khirme, Former Minister cum Convener informed that there are 19 departments in the party with Art & Culture as an additional department in our state.

He said that the main objective is to see that the State Govt function and perform in the line of the principle laid down by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Govt with a goal to ensure that the benefits of the Govt Programmes and Policies percolates down to the masses and reach to the last man in the society.

L Wanglat, Former Minister and Co-Convener of the Department also spoke on the principle of the Good Governance. He said that Good Governance is the key to nation’s progress and also spoke on ‘Modi Mantra’ to bring Govt closer to the citizen.

In the meeting, various issues including the status of restoration works of various roads and bridges across the state, road conditions, use of modern technology in construction of roads & bridges and their durability, status on departmental promotions, time bound transfer and posting of departmental officials, measures taken to check corruptions by the State Govt, etc were also discussed.

Chief Engineers of PWD Western Zone, Central Zone A, Central Zone B, Design & Planning and Highways also attended the meeting.
