I will request CM Pema Khandu to declare the Arunachal Paragliding festival as a calendar event – Mama Natung
Seppa (West) MLA Mama Natung inaugurated “Arunachal Paragliding festival 2018” amid huge gathering at paragliding site on Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH) here at Lumdung of Papu Valley of East Kameng district today.
Addressing the huge gathering Natung said that such type of games which is entrust and craze among the youths will go a long way in promotion of sports and adventure tourism. It will not only promote tourist flow but increase the economic condition of the people living in the area.
Citing the Papu valley as one of the best destination for Para gliding, said he will move a proposal with state government and will soon take up the matter with the Chief Minister Pema Khandu and will request him to declare the event as a calendar event in the state list of sports and tourism map.
He thanks the sports department and tourism department for supporting the event at the same time he also assured the organiser Paragliding Association of Arunachal President Vijay Sonam for successful of the event.
Paragliding Association President Vijaya Sonam in his presidential address said that in search of a best site we have visited several parts of state since last three years and finally this site Lumdung of Papu Valley have been selected by advisors and consultants from other state who visited last year and trial were made several times.
All total 30 glider from different parts of country including Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarkhand, Himachal Pradesh, New Delhi, Sikkim, Assam and other foreign country which include Indonesia, United State of America, Nepal, Canada, Slovenija and others are taking part.
Apart of the normal gliding the opportunity is being given to the locals who are interested to fly in the air with glider like a wing and enjoy the beauty of the area.
There shall be competition also which shall be participated among the glider pilot and several other programme for entertainment of the foreigners about the rich cultural heritage of our tribal community of state.
East Kameng district Deputy Commissioner Garav Singh Rajawat , Asstiant Director Sports Karbia Dodum, Asstiant Director Tourism Mana Bengia, HoDs of district, political leaders, social workers, former PRI members and youths and locals among others were present on the occasion.
