The women folk have now strongly come up and cry for solution by the government of India, through their Four hours Dharna in every district head quarters on Friday.
The 4 Hours Dharna organized as the Bodo Women’s Cry for Bodoland and the memorandum is being sent to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India through the deputy commissioner of the respective district headquarters.
In Kokrajhar the BTC headquarter, women activists of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), National Democratic Front of Boroland (P) and People’s Joint Action Committee for Boroland Movement (PJACBM)) have jointly organized this four hours, Women’s Dharna on Friday.
It must be mention here that the women have always been participating in Bodoland Movement with an aspiration for statehood to safeguard ethnic identity, land rights, culture & languages of indigenous people living in northern bank of Brahmaputra. In the struggle of this revolution, especially Bodo women have had to face immense sufferings in diverse forms & situations. Despite of stiff opposition & torture from various quarters towards women in the Movement, women have come out of four walls of their homes to demand for socio-economic justice, peace and all round developments through emancipation of the marginalized indigenous population as provided in article 2 and 3 of the great Indian Constitution.
