Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju announced a series of developmental packages for the people of Ziro plateau on Sunday in a public meeting held at Abotani hall, Hapoli.

Giving a tremendous boost to the tourism sector, he announced a state of art convention hall at 5.23 cr, a craft bazaar with amphitheatre at 4.80 cr and another 2.28 cr for cultural activities.

“ It is a matter of pride that Ziro has put Arunachal Pradesh in the global picture through its rich cultural and traditional practices and equipping this blessed place with better tourism infrastructures will definitely boost the tourism economy of this area, he added.

However we as responsible citizens should ensure proper law and order of the area. Lawlessness detriments developmental activities. Goan Buras and Goan Buris should be refreshed of their powers and duties and should be entrusted as custodians of law in the village level, he added while committing a multipurpose Goan Bura Hall at the cost of 50 lakhs.

“The rain fed streams of this plateau will be unable to cater to the agricultural and domestic demands in the future. Therefore a major water supply scheme to tap the water from river Pange at the cost of 86 crores will be prioritized immediately,” he further committed.

After inspecting the general condition of the general hospital in his last visit, where he had inaugurated an X-ray, ultrasound machine and flagged off an ambulance, he further assured to liaise with the concern authorities for re-construction of the General Hospital, which acts as a referral hospital for the nearby districts as well.

The entire district suffers due to bad roads. Therefore I have, in public interest and out of the way facilitated 11 crs for the maintenance of the Potin to Bopi stretch of road until the TAH gets the final clearance,” he added while called for quality execution of the work.

Earlier on 25th he also laid the foundation stone for a multipurpose shopping complex at Rs.7.33cr and the link road form Pine groove to Dilopolyang at Rs.20 cr.

“We have already wasted a lot of time due to political differences. It is high time we start working as a team Arunachal and build a sense of collective responsibility towards the people and work in tandem for the state and the country as a whole.”, he further added.
