Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday dedicated the Kalikho Pul Memorial District Hospital to the people of Anjaw district here at Swamy Camp in presence of Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Home Minister Kumari Waii, Art & Culture Minister Dr Mohesh Chai and State BJP President Tapir Gao.
The foundation stone for the hospital was laid by former Arunachal Governor, General JJ Singh in 2009 in presence of former CM late Kalikho Pul.
The Chief Minister inspected the 50-bedded hospital and met the Doctors and staff members. He interacted with them and enquired on the requirements for the hospital. The hospital officials informed about the shortage of Doctors and other staffs to which the Chief Minister assured them of having a meeting with Commissioner health and to immediately post the required number of officials and staffs. In a meeting with hospital staffs, Khandu urged them to work dedicatedly as the job being a specialized one requiring a humane effort.
Earlier Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated the Manchal Bridge over river Lohit to connect Hayuliang with Hawai through the left bank of the river. The Home Minister also inaugurated a shopping complex in Swamy camp.
The Chief Minister later attending a public meeting assured the people that all incomplete work by former CM late Kalikho Pul will be completed. Responding to memorandum, he assured to fund for 25 km road from Manchal bridge point to Manchal village under RIDF. He also assured to take up the demand for a suspension bridge over river Dalai.
Anjaw and Lohit district being rich in biodiversity, medicinal plants and horticulture crops, the Chief Minister informed about a plan to setup factory by Patanjali group of Industries in the foothills. He accordingly requested local MLA Dr Chai to identify a plot of land, which will be taken on lease to setup a training centre and a factory to produce medicinal products. He said a manufacturing unit for agriculture and horticulture products will be setup, which will help local farmers find market.
