Techi Kaso, MLA Itanagar and Prince Dhawan , DC, Capital complex to day distributed the relief materials to the victim of Landslide and flash flood victims.
Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso appeal the people who are staying at vulnerable places like near the bank of river, below the mountain, steep slope area to remain alert and evacuate at safer place and not to construct dwelling houses again and again to avoid disaster which causes loss of life and property.
Kaso was addressing the villagers of Modirijo and Donyi Polo Vidya Bhawan area today after distribution of relief materials to the flash flood and landslide victims .
Kaso said that even inspite of repeated appeal and notice and alert served to the people living at vulnerable area the people are constructing dwelling houses and have to face disaster on several occasion and we are losing precious life and property.
While praying almighty for eternal peace for departed soul to rest in peace Kaso said everyone is born to die but not like this. He said we cannot fight nature but can remain safe if precautionary measures are being adopted while constructing the infrastructure specially dwelling house and buildings.
He said that ex-gratia and other relief will be paid to all the victims as per guidelines of the government and requested the Capital DC Prince Dhawan, to immediately take care for providing of relief from the government so that the victims do not face problems in their rehabilitation process.
DC Capital Prince Dhawan informed that today relief materials which include blankets, mattress, buckets, utensils and rice have been distributed to the victims.
He requested the residents to remain alert and cooperative in nature with neighbour and nearby resident so that the help first come from them and nearby people living. He also informed about the toll free no 1077 of Emergency Operating centre(EOC) and anyone can call in case of emergency and disaster.
A Medical team led by Dr. Kabak Tamar also participated and provided first aid relief , conducted health check up, laboratory test for suspected water borne disease to as many as all the injured patients at Modirijo and Donyi Polo Colony. Mobile ambulance has also been activated for any medical emergency.
NGO Come forward to help vicitms
Meanwhile come forward to help the victims of Modirijo. The ‘JIlele group’ of 21 Koloriang Assembly constituency comprised of youth leaders come forward and donated cash to the victims of the Modirijo.
The Jilele group leader Lokam Nai while appealing other well-wishers and businessmen and likeminded people of state capital to come forward to support and help the flash flood and landslide victims.
He said that the group established some four years back have been doing such works and shall continue to do so. He said that it was a great support of the M/S Kenge Construction company MD Ha Tatu who have cooperated the group and able to provide around 4 lakhs for the victims and thanks Tatu for his support to the victim and their family.
