The Joint Working Committee of Arunachal Pradesh Trade Unions ( JWCAPTU ) observed its Foundation Day at Siddartha Hall today. Gracing the occasion, Parliamentary Secretary, PWD, Techi Kaso and Jalley Sonam, Chairman, Arunachal Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (APB&OCWWB)extended goodwill message to the labour community.
They exhorted the labour force to discharge their duties efficiently as a working force to be reckoned with. Earlier, the flag hoisted to mark the foundation day. A good number of labourers from various government department as well as private sectors participated in the programme.
APB&OCWWB, Jalley Sonam, Chairman laid emphasised on how to develop the working condition of the workers in the State and opined that awareness on Government schemes would be instrumental in the further development of the labour community.
Talking about the significance of registered labour, Sonam informed that on October next at IG Park, the 500 registered labour will avail housing loan on a seniority basis for which Rs 5 crores will be released.
Also, there will be a Tool Advance for that skilled worker in carpentry, repairing work, electrician an all. However, in the list of 1500 skilled workers, no Arunachalee will benefit from this Tools Advance, as our people are too loath to work, he states.
He further informed that the board will be organising two programmes next coming month- a computer course especially for the children of registered workers from the month of August in each district.
A skill development programme on carpentry, light and heavy machinery operator and wiring work for the beneficiary card holders. The programme is under the scheme “New India, Make India” to take place at every district, he said.
To create awareness of the various scheme and another important topic, Sonam further announced that the radio will be provided to beneficiary card holders next October at IG Park.
He also informed that “Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana” will be mandatory for every worker insurance.
Paying his tribute to the working class, the local MLA, Techi Kaso said, “Labourers are the real grassroots level workers and every individual must recognize their contribution in the development and must respect their dignity”.
Orating the audience to stop mouth lynching against the State Government and Labours Union on the basis of rumours, Kaso said it’s a conspiracy to manipulate the people, rather concentrate on doing hard work which enhances the state development.
Kaso said that State Government is always willing to give the full support to the worker’s community, adding that the BJP Govt under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu is committed to taking along the labour community in developmental aspects at par with others.
Meanwhile, the members after serious deliberations resolved to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister for the welfare of workers community. Various colourful cultural programmes besides other activities marked the day-long celebration.
