Itanagar: If not capable, surrender BCT road project- AAPPTF asks BRO

 AAPPTF demanded BRO to surrender the BCT road project to pave way for others.

Expressing serious concern over delay or in construction and completion of Balipara-Charduar-Tawang  (BCT) road, the All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation (AAPPTF) today demanded that Border Road organisation (BRO) should surrender the said road construction works if they have not sufficient manpower and equipment  to construct the road in time given.

Addressing media here today at Arunachal Press Club, AAPPTF president Dobing Sonam informed  that after receiving various complain from public of three district, West Kameng, East Kameng and Tawang and also vehicle driver a team of AAPPTF visited  all three district recently and take stock of the ground situation and also meet Chief Secretary Arunachal Pradesh, Deputy Commissioner, Tawang, Deputy Commissioner, West Kameng and the Chief Engineer, Project Vartak, Tezpur, for the redressed of the grievances with regard to the snail pace construction and delay in completion of Balipara-Charduar-Tawang road.

During visit at various authorities concerned, the AAPPTF also a meeting with executing Agency BRO  and district administration the Federation suggested  BRO to field visit and do repairing and maintains of Pinjoli to Zero point road via Kimmi and Khuppi as alternate road  to reach Bomdila and which would be convenient for the people of East Kameng to reach Bhalukpong.

The team members also take up the matter with the NEEPCO as well as Union Minister of state for Home affairs Kiren Rijiju at New Delhi for early solution of the genuine grievance of people of three district.

The State Chief Secretary directed the Commissioner PWD and  the District administration of Bomdila to put report. accordingly the District Administration and  executing agency has conducted a meeting on the Federation for feasible solution. However, even after verbal and written assurances by the concerned authorities nothing on ground reality is progressing. He said.

Although the Deputy Commissioner, Bomdila is not in cooperating with AAPPTF on the matter and the executing agency BRO also not taking initiate seriously on directions of DA.

Sonam also informed that during meeting it was also decided to conduct a coordination meeting on the said by-pass road in between AAPPTF, BRO. District Administration and NEEPCO for further execution of the consensus.

AAPPTF Kameng region Zonal Presidents Barun Khaduju said that due to delay of road construction  the public and commuter facing lots of problem and due to bad road condition affecting in tourist flow in the area especially Tawang district and due to non flow the continues transport the prize of essential commodities have also rise to many fold.

Further AAPPTF also disclosed that said road construction was started on 2010 in against of 304 KM form Balipara-Tawang by BRO, but till date around 30 percents of works has been done. And if the BRO follow this speed than it will be take more 20 years to complete this road and the general public of the area will continue to suffer. He added.

The federation also demanded that the constriction work should be taken in night hours while it should be made open during day time so that the transporters and commuters can pass through the said road to reach Tezpur for purchasing essential items as the nearest big market in Assam, to reach Tezpur airport and other destination as the present route is too far away from Balemnu to Kalaktang to Bomdila which have increase the distance of more than 60-70 Km and is a burden for all.
