Itanagar: Felix flags off 5 PCR Vans, 7 fire tenders, 5 Riot control vehicles of police department

The Police Department is trying tooth and nail to avert any eventualities like Anti-PRC issues in future- Bamang Felix, Home Minister, Arunachal Pradesh.

Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Bamang Felix today flagged off new 5 PCR Vans, 7 fire tenders and 5 Riot control vehicles at Police Headquarter, Itanagar in presence of Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, MLA Hayeng Mangfi, MLA Jikke Tako, MLA Nyato Rigia and various ranks and file of Arunachal Pradesh police.

The newly inducted vehicles will be deployed in different districts of the state.

While addressing the media persons, Felix informed that more of such vehicles will be acquired to strengthen the Police Department and as a part of police modernisation.

He further added that the Police Department is trying tooth and nail to avert any eventualities like Anti-PRC issues in future.

He also stated that the department will not leave any stone unturned to ensure peace and security in the state and make Arunachal Pradesh a better place to live and the tagline ‘Island of peace’ is revived soon.

On the Naga Army (Ollo)’s diktat issue, he said that all the issues related to massacre on May 23 last, is taken up by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and added that the state government is given logistical support to the agency.

Further on the statement given by BJP leader Lowang Passang to the media fraternity on Sunday that no one can stopped UG elements of their involvement in politics, Felix stated that the statement given by Lowang is his personal view and that doesn’t concern the Home department. He further added that the Home Department has its own system and added that they will carry out their duty in their own way.

While addressing the gathering during the flagged off ceremony, Felix called for bringing changes through evolution and not with revolution. He told the people that demanding result at urgent time is wrong and asked the people to let others understand the theme and the objective of a demand.

He further said that they will empower the civilian to contain the law and order and that the police will go for maintenance of law and order. “We will empower the public by making them know that they are the responsible people to contain law and order,” he added.

He also emphasis on capacity building of the police department by including modern equipment and machinery with special focus on the training of the police personnel for improving their skill and confidence.

Chief Secretary Naersh Kumar also address the gathering, he emphasis on induction of emergency Rrescue vehicles  in the police department for effective handling of any natural and manmade disaster.

DGP R P UPadhyaya while presented detail account of all the initiatives which are being taken for the welfare of police personnel, improving knowledge about scientific investigation and handling of law and order and other situation. He also thanks the state government for actively supporting the modernization of police.
