Itanagar: capsule course on Juvenile Justice and POCSO Act 2012

A three days capsule course on Juvenile Justice ( Care and Protection ) and POCSO Act 2012 for Investigating Officers of Arunachal Pradesh Police is being held at PTC, Banderdewa wef 03/10/18 to 05/10/18. Around 18 officers of the ranks of Sub Inspectors and Inspectors from various districts of the state are taking part in this Capsule Course.

The capsule course has been designed primarily to accustom the Investigating Officers regarding the various new amendments that have been inserted in the JJ Act 2015 and POCSO Act 2012 and also to address the various issues and roles of the police officers pertaining to handling such cases.

The capsule course encompasses to cover various features of the  JJ Act 2015 and POCSO Act 2012 and various new ingredients that have been amended and inserted in these special Acts, Institutional intervention in enforcing and treating Children and Juveniles, Role of Police, handling of police case and various other relevant issues.

In order to impart professional training to these police officers, expert resource persons have been invited from the State Legal Aid Service Authority, Itanagar.

Earlier, speaking on the inaugural session, Principal PTC Shri Surendra Choudhary, IPS welcomed the gathering and briefed regarding the importance of both  these Special Acts. In his interactive session with the participants, he also briefed them regarding the various salient features of JJ Act 2015 and POCSO Act 2012 and threw light on various amendments that have been inserted. He also exhorted the participants to take full advantage of the course and become resource persons in their respective districts so that the knowledge regarding these special Acts percolates to the grass root level.

Among others present were DySP Dusu Kaling ( Course Co-ordinator) , Inspector B.P. Alley, Inspector K.P. Sharma and others.
