In a major breakthrough, Capital police today seized huge quantity of drugs and arrested two youths who were found involved in drug racket while locating the kingpin. Said Capital SP.
Addressing the reports, Capital SP Tumme Amo said information of using and selling of drugs in capital complex has been a serious issue which is reported from various corner.
On a tip from the sources under his supervision a team of Itanagar police led by SDPO Dekio Gumja have been able to seized a huge quantity of drugs and arrested two youths in the connection. One have been arrested from Vivek VIhar VIP colony while other arrested from Mowb II area. He said.

Apart of contraband substances a huge cash have also been recovered from their possession, they were arrested from the resident of well known personality of state and efforts are being made to arrest the other members and the kingpin of the illegal drug racket. Amo added.
The arrested youths have been identified as Sosar Punung(21) and Bengia Rigia(20). Sosar Punung, was arrested from official resident of former MLA at Vivek Vihar, while Bengia Regia was apprehended from his resident at Mowb-II
“They both are students of Don Bosco College and have been selling drugs to the customers. Probably target customers are teenagers of their same age” SP added.
“We caught some drug consumers who were their customers from them we zeroed down to them. We are also investigating on other sources like in Assam. We are told they brought drugs from Shillong” He said.
“ Two packets of heroin worth amount in market of Rs 3 lakhs, 28 large tube and 42 small tubes(containers) were recovered from them along with cash of Rs 61000(sixty one thousand) and two mobile phones” added SP Amo.
