Itanagar Buddhist Cultural Society to celebrate silver jubilee from 2-4 March

The Itanagar Buddhist Cultural Society (IBCS) will celebrate its silver jubilee from 2nd to 4th March next at the Nyokum ground Itanagar, in accordance with the losar celebration.

Announcing, it’s silver jubilee celebration date officially here at Arunachal Press Club today ,the IBCS president Sonam Tenzing inform that the IBCS was first formed in 1985 under the President of Tsering Tashi, former Minister. It was his great vision of spreading the peace message of Lord Buddha through this society also he donated the monastery land to the society.

The cultural and the religious centre were then constructed in the Siddhartha vihar. Many infrastructural development came up the under various Presidents and a remarkable development, was noticed during the president ship of T N Thongdok, Present Speaker of State legislative Assembly.

He inform IBCS to mark its silver jubilee is celebrating in accordance with the losar celebrating this year , which will be complete exhibition of rich Buddhist tradition and culture. 22nd Buddhist food stalls will be there, many cultural events where around 30 Buddhist cultural teams will be participating from across the State and there will be local games & sports events to the main attraction of the celebration.

On 2nd march, the food stalls will be inaugurate, deferent’s Buddhist food items get to test. And the official celebration will be on 3th and 4th march.

The state Chief Minister Pema Khandu, who is also the Chief Patron of IBCS for his overall contribution and assistance in this regards. He also advice us to include all the citizen of our state in our celebration, The 2nd and 3th march day of the celebration will be main attraction of the celebration as large number of cultural troupes from all around state will perform for the mass. Various Buddhist communities of  state will exhibit their cultural and traditional, he added.

The 4th march is completely a celebrity night. A sensational singer from Bhutan Sonam thopten will be performing live along with Buddhist singers and artists.

Further IBCS thankful to all the Buddhist MLAs for their contribution and support in this regards. also to all the IBCS members present and former for their valuable contribution.

And they also cordially invite each and every one from all section of our society to be a part of their celebration.

Meanwhile IBCS General Secretary Dorjee Wangdi Thongdok , requested all section of the people especially youth to avoid disturbing by doing illegal activity within Itanagar Gompa compound, as this place is known for the Pease and Tourist points. But some youths are disturbing doing illegal activity like bike stand, using drugs, alcohol etc within compound.
