Itanagar: APWWS celebrates 40th foundation day cum general body meeting

Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society (APWWS) celebrated its 40th foundation day cum general body meeting which concluded here today at the Don Bosco youth centre conference hall.

Addressing on the occasion as chief guest Arunachal Pradesh state commission for Women (APSCW) Chairperson Radhillu Chai Techi said time has come and now women organisation has to rise up and fight for their right in all aspect for a happily living in the society with dignity and equality including the 33 % job in government and legislative assembly.

She said that several states of the country has already adopted the reservation policy including the reservation in the panchayat and government appointment so to empower the women not only economically both in all field and the enjoy the equal status in the society and shoulder equal responsibility for the state and nation development.

She said that the crime against worm including rape and murder are growing in capital complex and urge upon all to study the ground reality and the people need to extend support the APWWS and APSCW in solving all such cases. She also appeal all to guide the victims and the service providers to act smoothly for the safety and security of women and girl child from the domestic violence and crime against women as an activist.

Concerning on rise of domestic violence on women Chai said that it is a very important issue and government should provide sufficient fund and appoint independent protection officer, and at present the CDPO are acting as Protection officer and due to lots of works they could not work properly due to over burden.

Guest of honour AIGP Chandan Chowdhary emphasis on gender equality, he urge upon women fold to encourage both children boys and girls and to segregate and engage them in working and support the family in the work which will help them to respect mother, girls and sister and several rapes cases would be reduced.

Boys and male members of the family should also be given responsibility and they should also support all members of the society and family for the welfare and wellbeing of the family and which will give opportunity to both female and male equality for all-round development of state and country.

He also urge upon the mother and father to give equality to both boy and girls right from home so that they grow into a good human being,

APWWS President Bengia Dipti Tadar spoke on several prevailing problems in the society and urge upon all section of society for development of education, social upliftment, peace and prosperity among the family.

Secretary General Kani Nada Maling  elaborated on the activities vcarries in last three years through power point presentation.

Dr Subu Taso Kamku highlighted on good health and hygiene. Dulari Kanya, Jannani Suraksha Yojna, timely and regularly vaccination of children. Institutional delivery, discarding of child marriage.

APSCW Members and senior members of APWWS, Executive members among others were also present on the occasion.
