Itanagar: 2nd Verification Mela gets huge response among people

Verification Mela for tenants witness huge turnout at Itanagar, Naharlagun and Nirjuli simultaneously. 70 thousand forms distributed.

The 2nd Verification Mela was organized simultaneously at DK Convention Centre, Itanagar, Art & Culture office campus in Naharlagun and at Government Secondary School Nirjuli  today to help and assist the outsiders residing as tenants in Capital Complex in getting their identification and verification done.

The Verification Mela was launched by Home Minister Bamang Felix on 7 July last aiming to verify and indentify tenants and workers residing in and around the Capital Complex. The Documents verification process is mandatory for everyone who does not hold Permanent Residential Certificate of Capital Complex but residing here.

The mela is organized by Arunachal Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Capital Police. Today, hundreds of residents who are mostly tenants and are residing in rented accommodation reached to the mela to process the documentation and verification.

Itanagar SDPO Dekio Gumja informed that public response is very positive so far toward this process and appreciated the effort and corporation of every individual.

Re-assuring that the document verification system is for the safety and security of every people residing in the Capital Complex, he said that it is also important to know the statistics of tenants and workers residing in the capital.

He informed that  people are continuously receiving forms at the police station and added that people could not make it to the mela can collect and submit verification form in any police station.

“Mela is organized to assist and help in filling and submitting documents, but the process will continue whole year in police stations. So anytime, any individual can come to any police station and do the needful,” added Gumja.

Arunachal Chamber of Commerce & Industries (ACCI) President Tarh Nachung informed that over 70 thousand  forms have already been distributed while more than 1000 forms were submitted back after duly filled up along with documents on the first mela and added that they are expecting more than 30,000 forms to be submitted back today.

He further informed that a few building owners also visited with their tenants and appreciated the positive response of the building owners.

Toko Tatung, Secretary General ACCI informed that this documentation verification is like a pilot project and added that the ACCI will tie up with administrations of other districts as well.

“The response here has been very impressive and we are planning to collaborate with the administrators and police of other districts to implement the same. We will carry out the process in phase wise manners,” added Tatung.

He also said that it is a needful considering the floating of population in the capital alone.
