Itanagar: 1st State level Kabadi Championship-2018 concludes

The 1st State level Kabadi Championship-2018 was successfully concluded here at Papu Nallah, Naharlagun today.
K.V No 2 representing the Papum Pare District won the Championship by four points to their nearest rival Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy Chimpu having a separate entity in the tournament and become the runners up of the historic tournament.
Christian Mission School representing the Kurung Kumey District got the best discipline team of the tournament.
Tata Mosing of Kra-Dadi district and Tai Tania of Sangay Lhaden Academy Sport have been adjusted the best Raider and Best Tackler of the tournament respectively.
While attending the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest, Chairman Sports Authority of Arunachal Bamang Tago congratulated the Arunachal Kabadi Association (AKA) for hosting such state level Kabadi mega event which is a first of its kind in the state despite of many challenges and encourage the AKA to facilitated such events in the district level too to popularise the sports of Kabaddi paving way to explore the hidden talented youth in days to come.
Chairman SAA also disclosed that there are many state level registered Sports associations affiliated with SAA but doesn’t conduct tournament following the absence of their annual calendar event and warned that Arunachal Olympic Association (AOA) shall be informed to take action against such inactive Sports Association.
Responding to the one point memorandum submitted by AKA, Chairman, SAA assured to supports AKA financially as per norms of SAA in days to come.
Guest of Honour of the closing ceremony, former MLA Kipa Babu emphasis the payers to opt Sports as a profession. All Arunachal Contractor Welfare Association President Nabam Aken Hina attending as the Special guest also appreciated AKA and assured to supports for conduct of such tournament in future.
Earlier, President Arunachal Kabadi Association Dongchey Peter briefed about tournaments and its challenges to the dignitaries and informed that total of 11 (Eleven) districts from across the state has participated the state level mega kabadi tournament including Papum Pare, Kra-Dadi, Kurung Kumey, Londing , Tirap, Changlang, Kumle, Lower Subansiri, Siang, Capital complex and Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy respectively.
Later, while proposing vote of thanks AKA Secretary, Yorum Tatum extend their gratitude to Chairman SAA Bamang Tago, Former-MLA Kipa Babu and President, All Arunachal Pradesh Kabaddi Association Nabam Aken Hina for sparing their valuable time and motivating the participants.
