Thirteen rebel Congress MLAs have submitted notices of impeachment motion against the Speaker of the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly accusing him of “dictatorial attitude.”
The impeachment motion notices have been received by the Assembly secretariat..
“The matter is under scrutiny and the Assembly secretary is examining the nature of the allegations,” Speaker Nabam Rebia said here today.
As many as 13 legislators had signed the impeachment notice against the Speaker on November 19, alleging that he accepted the resignation of two rebel Congress MLAs Gabriel D Wangsu and Wanglam Sawin which were not submitted by them to him..

Another 16 MLAs had submitted impeachment notices against the Deputy Speaker on November 16.
The Deputy Speaker too have been accused of “dictatorial attitude” by the MLAs.
“It is the prerogative of the secretary to decide on the matter and he will place it before the Business Advisory Council.
“The BAC will place it in the business of the House if the notices are worth for admission during the five-day Winter Session of the Assembly scheduled from January 14 next,” Rebia added.
