The APCC president Takam Sanjoy, claimed that “cash-for-job” scam in IMC is the tip of the iceberg, and demanded thorough probe in this case.
Terming the Arrest of EAC Olik Taring by special investigation cell (SIC) of state police a welcome move for his alleged involvement in illegal appointment, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee president Takam Sanjoy, claimed it to be This is the tip of the iceberg of ‘cash-for-job’ multi-crore scam in IMC.
More than 200 posts of JEs, UDCs, LDCs, sanitary assistants Cash for and unskilled contingency staff during his tenure as chief municipal executive officer (CMEO) of Itanagar Municipal Council (IMC) though there was no sanctioned post except that the file was moved to finance department but the posts were not approved created by the state Govt, an APCC release said.
According to release Sanjoy asked the state Govt, particularly finance and planning department, to clarify under which head these appointed staff would have been paid? Taring should not be made a scapegoat in the case to seal other higher ups involved in the case. It is well neigh impossible that such a large number of staff could be employed by the IMC openly without the nod of higher ups, the release said,
APCC demanded SIC should conduct through investigation into the case to bring all those guilty to book in greater public interest and expose illegal practices of few black moles by misusing their official positions.
Moreover, there were allegations of siphoning of crores of fund granted by the state Govt to the IMC and groups of councillors had submitted memorandum to the chief minister in this connection .
The fund siphoning case should also be investigated as corruption has no identity whether caste, creed, religion or community, the outcome of the investigation should send a louder message in tune with the ruling BJP state Govt’s avowed policy of stumping out all forms of corruption with iron hands.
That would alone ensure confidence of the masses in good governance to bid good bye to present bura din to facilitate acche din to make inroad into our land-locked Himalayan state now gasping for much desired all-round development, the release said and lauded the SIC officers conducting probe.
