Ten labourers of Navayuga Engineering Company Ltd., engaged in construction of a bridge, were stranded in the middle of the river near Bomjir village due to sudden rise in water level following torrential rain on Monday.

According to an official report today, earth-cutting machinery of the company was stuck in the river.

The Bomjir-Nizam Ghat road linking Dambuk sub-division to the district headquarters Roing has been closed due to increase in river water as a result of which surface communication to Dambuk is also cut off from all sides.

Meanwhile the parts of Northeast India continues to observe good showers. For the past few days, rainfall activity has been observed over several areas of the region including Assam, Arunachal Pardesh,  Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Tripura.
