Himalayan University awarded 410 students at it’s first convocation

Altogether 410 students from various disciplines were awarded degrees and diplomas today at the first Convocation ceremony of the Himalayan University held here at is campus.

The Himalayan University, a private university established in 2013, has a strength of about 2500 students, and has faculty of Art, Commerce, Science, D Pharma, Special Education, Social Work, Library Science, Civil Engineering, and MBA.

The institute’s first convocation ceremony saw respective HoDs presenting 157 students, in person and in absentia, from Arts and Humanities, 11 from Social Sciences, 65 from Commerce, 43 from Science, 23 from Law, 67 from Education, and 85 students from Library Sciences, for the degrees and diplomas.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Rama Krishna Mission hospital secretary Swami Vishweshamananda said that graduation is not the end but the beginning of their life long learning process.

Stating that the world is a tough place, Swami advice the recipients to not forget their responsibility and the skills they have acquired from their alma-mater. He also urged them to make the university proud by actively contributing towards the welfare of the society.

Rambhau Mhalgi Probodhini executive director Ravinder Sathe in his deliberation as guest of honour, advised the students to inculcate reading habit to have a sensible outlook towards the issues in various fields.

Stating that a nation cannot rise without its people having sense of patriotism towards it, Sathe urged the new graduates to identify their USP, develop it, and utilize it for the development of the nation.
