Guwahati- BSF Seizes FICN, Apprehended Cattle Smuggler

In two separate operations, troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force seized FICN amounting to 20000 having denomination of currency Rs 2,000/- & apprehended one cattle smuggler today from the International Boundary under Dhubri district of Assam.

Based on specific intelligence input, about transaction of FICN in South Salmara districts, BSF troops launched operations in the AOR of BOP Boreralga and seized FICN (New Currency) amounting to Rs. 20,000/- (10 Currency Notes) along with 33 bottles of liquor. This consignment of FICN was coming from Haldiyaganj and was marked for delivering to Dhubri. The courier fled away from scene taking advantage of huge crowd at Boreralga Ghat on getting suspicion of apprehension leaving behind bag containing FICN & liquor.

Meanwhile one cattle smuggler namely Manik Ali,  was also apprehended by the troops of BOP Chowkichar alongwith 12 cattle heads while he was trying to smuggle them from India to Bangladesh.

The seized FICN has been handed over to Police station Sukhchar for further legal action. Whereas, apprehended cattle smuggler alongwith seized cattle heads were handed over to PS Dhubri.

Beside, BSF troops of Guwahati Frontier seized  67   cattle heads having approximate value of Rs. 4,43,800/- on intervening night of 9/10 March 2017. BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes & illegal infiltration and are making all out efforts to prevent commission such crimes.
