Addressing the media person at the Tennis Court protest ground All Arunachal Pradesh Gorkha Youth Welfare Association (AAPGYWA) President Shyam Ghatani said that we are very sad on the death of the our beloved brothers and sisters who are fighting for the demand of the gorkhaland which would curved out of present West Bengal. Many protesters are being beaten mercilessly by the west Bengal Police and our movement is being suppressed. The demand for separate Gorkhaland is not a new but more than decades together.

The issue  was mentioned in election manifesto of the ruling BJP to take up the issue for the Gorkhaland and Telangana but the ruling TMC government under Mamta Banarjee have been imposing Bengali as mandatory language in the state which is not expectable by the Gorkha people of the state. We have been very peaceful and abiding by the Indian constitution and shall continue to do so, we love India, we may except Hindi or English as mandatory language but not Bengali.

Hundreds of youths of Gorkha community from various parts of state took parts in the rally which culminated at Gompa complex.
