Funds for Yingkiong to Zido Road before 2019 elections- Khandu

Chief Minister Pema Khandu promised to finalise the sanction of funds for road connectivity between Yingkiong to Zido before 2019 elections.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu today attended a public meeting along with Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, RD Minister Alo Libang, State BJP President Tapir Gao, Geku-Mariyang MLA Olom Panyang and other dignitaries.

The meeting was also attended by panchayat leaders, Gaon burahs, head of the departments, govt officials, BJP party workers and others.

Extending his warm greetings to the four communities of Upper Siang – Adi, Memba, Khamba and Mishmi, the Chief Minister thanked the people of the district for their warm welcome and generous hospitality. He said people of Siang Valley are known for their hard working culture and appreciated their expertise in farming.

 CONNECTIVITY 

He said under the leadership of Libang, the constituency has achieved much progress in terms of connectivity. He said a steel suspension bridge in Kodak near Tuting was inaugurated in February this year connecting all villages on left bank of Siang river in the circle. This morning, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Nubo bridge and also earlier inspected the under construction of Gandhi bridge, which will be completed by March next year.

Khandu said work for road connectivity between Yingkiong to Paling CO headquarter sanctioned under NLCPR under phase 1 has been completed. Also the road from Zido to Mankota road has been completed. He said work on Pasighat to Yingkiong highway is progressing fast. Under CRF, Yingkiong to Ramsing work has also been sanctioned for Rs 13 crores. Further between Puging and Paling, work for 6 bridges have been sanctioned under NLCPR for Rs 32 crores.

The Chief Minister promised to finalise the sanction of funds for road connectivity between Yingkiong to Zido before 2019 elections. The road is proposed under PMGSY and survey and investigation including tender is complete. Further he assured that road project will be sanctioned for Mankota to Singa for which technical vetting is completed.

 HEALTH 

Khandu said that another focus area of state government is health and informed that posts for GDMO and specialists has been created for which recruitment will be held soon to fill up shortages in all government hospitals. He said works are also underway to make functional 5 zonal hospitals.

The Chief Minister announced that CM universal health insurance will be re-launched soon under the new name of CM’s Health Assurance Scheme. He said much work has gone underway to modify the earlier health insurance schemes that had numerous flaws, which led to loss for insurance companies. He said the new scheme has been restructured to do away with hurdles faced by beneficiaries in availing cashless treatment. He said through this scheme, people can be assured of having better health treatment facilities.

EDUCATION

Education being another focus area of present govt, the CM assured that by next academic session, all shortages of teachers at secondary and higher secondary schools will be met including filling up of subject teachers. He said state government has created more than 1300 posts of teachers for filling up the shortages.

The Chief Minister said Upper Siang has made progress in education with setting up of Kendriya Vidyalaya and VKV school in the district. He credited this achievement to local MLA Libang and said that his work will be remembered by generations to come.

The Chief Minister promised to immediately sanction funds for construction of boundary wall and required infrastructures for govt higher secondary school in Yingkiong. He also assured for teachers and principal quarters for the school.

 MEMORANDUM 

Responding to memorandum submitted by local leaders, the CM assured to sanction funds for construction of a Secretariat building and helipad. He asked the local MLA and the department to submit DPR immediately for early sanctioning of funds. He also assured to initiate flood protection work with the WRD department to protect the town and the helipad from river erosion from Siang river. On request for sponsoring of Bamboo festival in Yingkiong, the CM promised to give grant for the conduct of the festival.

Deputy CM, RD Minister, State BJP President, Geku MLA and others also spoke on the occasion.
