First DDCMC Meeting of Namsai District Held

The first preliminary District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DDCMC) meeting under the Chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein for the effective development coordination of almost all the programmes of central government was held at the office chamber of DC here today. Altogether 16 departments took part in the meeting.

To promote synergy and convergence for greater impact, Dy CM Mein emphasized that efforts  has to be made to ensure the participation of people representatives at all levels in it and successful implementation of flagship programme of central government.

He advised that Namsai being the newly created district, most of the developmental data are required to be bifurcated from the erstwhile Lohit. He directed the officers of all departments to prepare the report on both ongoing and proposed schemes of all CSS pertaining to Namsai district immediately.

Highlighting the importance of the rural development programmes, Dy Commissioner  R K Sharma, who is also the member secretary of the DDCMC, sought active participation and cooperation of the members to implement the centrally sponsored schemes in the district as they are meant to bring a sea change in the economic conditions of the rural populace.

Project Director DRDA B Talukdar briefed on the main purpose of the meeting which was to coordinate with central and state and local panchayat governments for successful and timely implementation of the schemes.

The final meeting of DDCMC would be held on August 22 under the Chairmanship of Member of Parliament (East) Ninong Ering.

Namsai MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom also spoke on the occasion. The who’s who of Namsai district to attend the meeting included local MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom, DC R.K.Sharma, Project Director DRDA B.Talukdar, EAC Mahadevpur H.N.Dubey, CO Namsai Dr L. Ampi, PRI members and officers from the various departments.
