At least 10 houses were reduced to ashes in a devastating fire that broke out in Hari village in Lower Subansiri district on Sunday afternoon. However No casualty has been reported yet, but the fire has caused huge loss of property.
The fire had occurred in the heart of the village, where the residences are mostly concentrated. The timely arrival of fire tenders from Old Ziro and Hapoli helped in dousing the flames and preventing them from spreading to a larger area. The fire tenders also managed to provide timely assistance as the access road to the accident site was not obstructed by haphazard parking of vehicles, unlike other days.
Meanwhile The Apatani Apex Council appealed to the state government to provide adequate relief to the fire victims to compensate their losses in the fire accident.
The Council also urged the District Administration, various NGOs and community people to come forward and extend helping hands to the affected people for their quick rehabilitation.
