Creditable performance by Tinsukia Division of N.F. Railway

The overall performance of the Tinsukia Division of Northeast Frontier Railway has been very commendable during the last financial year which ended on 31st March. The overall earnings of the Division have shown an increase of 22.78% from 389.89 crs to 478.71 crs in comparison to last year.

The numbers of passenger originating from Tinsukia Division has also increased by 2% to 7.53 million defying a declining trend elsewhere. Passenger earnings have also shown an increase of 11.23% in comparison to last year.

The earnings from Goods section has increased by 37.77%. Originating loading has increased to 1.400 MT an increase of 32.8% over last year. Other coaching earning has increased by 24.15% and Sundries earning has increased by 28.53% over last year.

To provide better amenities to passenger DEMU services was introduced for the first time in Upper Assam form 08.10.2016.

High level platforms were commissioned at Dibrugarh and Moranhat. Foot over bridge with ramp was commissioned at New Tinsukia station.

To facilitate easy booking of reserved and un-reserved tickets, two Non-railhead PRS counters were opened at Dergaon and Bokakhat under ASTC operation.

To promote cashless transaction POS machines have been installed at the PRS counters of six stations. Free Wi-Fi facilities for passenger have been provided at Dibrugarh, New Tinsukia and Mariani stations.
