Congress claims demonetisation as total failure

The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today observed ‘Black Day’ here in the State capital, as a mark of protest against one year of demonetisation of 500 and 1000 rupee notes.

On November 8, 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1000 of banknotes, leading to widespread criticism.

Many senior leaders of the party including APCC President Takom sanjoy, AIMCC General Secretary Jarjum Ete, Lok Sabha MP Ninong Ering, former ministers Bosiram Siram and Bida Taku, Taniong Tatak and hundreds of party workers took part in the protest march and candle march from Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan to Tennis court and back.

Secretary AICC, Dr Jaya Kumar while paying homage to more than 100 lives lost due to demonetisation termed Demonetisation as legalised loot and an Idiotic nonsensical move made by the BJP. Calling it an organised blunder carried out by the Prime Minister he said that the fraudulence of the BJP, RBI and PM has jointly murdered the poor and innocent citizens, who had nothing to do with black money.

APCC President Takam Sanjay terming Demonetisation as an instrument for economic terrorism said that black economy needs to be tackled, but demonetisation is not the way. The brunt of this move has been borne by those who never had any black money.

 He also said that Demonetisation has not only demonetised the currency notes but the political state of the state.

He also wonder that in so many years there no any raid by IT but recwithout naming the person, he added.

Former Minister Bosiram Siram and former APCC President Padi Richo also spoke on the occasion. A short video on the impact of Demonetisation was also screened.

Former Minister Bida Taku, Taniong Tatak, APCC office bearers, frontal wing organisation which include Sava Dal Chief Kipa Kaha, APYC NIglar Veo and members of mohila Congress, NSUI and others were present who also took part in the procession and candle march in the city.
