conduct re-polling at Koloriang to avoid any L&O problems- NPP

The National People’s Party (NPP), Arunachal Pradesh suggests Chief Electoral Officer to conduct re-polling at Koloriang to avoid any law and order problems.

Gicho Kabak State President of National People’s Party (NPP) ,  Arunachal Pradesh has wrote a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Arunachal Pradesh and alleged that the genuine voters were escorted by police forces of 24-Taba polling team from Koloriang but they were stuck at Pagam because there was firing from Taba village, this was informed in a a press statement issued by NPP spokesperson Nima Sangey Saling. .

Nima informed that,  Kabal said inform that the magistrate and police officers on duty had ensured 147 genuine voters of 24-Taba polling station to exercise their adult franchise on re-poll day, but they were not allowed to cast their votes.

Gicho Kabak wrote this letter on the basis of detail reports from Pani Taram,  NPP Candidate of 21-Koloriang Assembly Constituency and his Election Agent  Arun Yangfo.

The genuine voters were badly tortured and maximum of them were forcefully dragged out from the Taba village, mention in the press statement.

Instead of genuine voters of 24-Taba polling station, the BJP supporters used outsiders whose voter list was not enlisted. It is also learnt that a person was allowed to caste vote repeatedly for more than five times which is a very serious matter, moreover, more than 50 bogus votes were casted, alleged in the letter .

Similarly, the genuine voters of 28-Nampe polling station were also not allowed to exercise their adult franchise.  Lokam Tapik and his team used lethal weapons and air fired openly in Nampe village.

The genuine voters were beaten up and they were not allowed to come in the polling booth. 59 bogus votes were casted by BJP at 28-Nmpe polling station.  In this connection there were protest rally by the NPP workers at Koloriang and apprise District Election Officer (DEO) Kurung Kummy for immediate re-polling at the above mentioned polling stations, Nima informed through the press statement.

Nima Sangey Saling,  Vice-President State NPP, Arunachal Pradesh call on Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) , Kaling Tayeng at Nirvachan Bhawan Itanagar today and apprised about the entire episode on behalf of the party and Mr. Tayeng assured to take the matter with the concerned authority urgently and sought for cooperation and maintain peace in the area for free and fare conduct of election in the constituency.

The National People’s Party (NPP) Arunachal Pradesh strongly demands for immediate conduct of re-polling at Taba and Nampe polling station under 21-Koloriang Assembly Constituency where the genuine voters were not allowed to vote at  Taba and Nampe polling station during the re-poll day on 27th April 2019.

Considering the sensitivity and prevailing law and order situation, the NPP suggests Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) to conduct re-polling centrally at Koloriang to avoid any law and order problems. Moreover, we request to deploy sufficient force for free and fair conduct of re-polling at Taba and Nampe polling station under 21-Koloriang Assembly Constituency.
