CMD NHIDCL Calls on CM Kalikho Pul to Apprise on Ongoing Road Projects

CMD NHIDCL Ashok Kumar called upon Chief Minister Kalikho Pul today and apprised him about the road projects being implemented by them in the state of Arunachal Pradesh.

He informed that 25 roads with 1000 kms length are being taken up the NHIDCL out of that 12 have already been tendered and remaining are at DPR stage. He also informed that the Hayuliang-Hawai road is also ready for tender. During the current year, 176 kms are proposed to be constructed in the state of AP.

 CM emphasized upon him that there should not be any compromise on the quality of roads and there should be periodical supervision and monitoring during the construction.

He also suggested that Hume pipes on construction of culverts should not be used and the open slab/box culverts should be constructed with proper design after the appropriate hydraulic study.

The CM further expressed his concern about poor maintenance of roads and suggested that NHIDCL should make proper arrangements for periodical and effective maintenance after construction of road is completed.

 The CM requested the CMD to implement some projects in Arunachal Pradesh towards discharge of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) and to provide jobs to local engineers to which the CMD readily agreed.

 He opined that there should be smaller packages of road works to engage local contractors.
