CM Pema Khandu condoles demise of former MLA Jobom Basar

Chief Minister Pema Khandu has condoled the demise of former Member of Legislative Assembly Jobom Basar, 67, who breathed his last this Saturday.

In a condolence message here this evening, Khandu paid rich tributes to the late leader and asserted that his presence will be missed by the young generation and people of Basar constituency, which he represented as an Independent MLA in 1996.

“Late Basar, hailing from a very interior village Nyigam, went on to become a member of the prestigious Assembly. He will always be remembered as one of the pioneers of Arunachalee society and his contributions to give a shape and identity to Arunachal politics will be cherished forever,” he said.

Khandu regretted that another one of the pioneers of Arunachal, the first generation torch-bearers, has left for heavenly abode and called upon the younger generation to follow their footsteps and dedicate themselves to take the state to newer heights.

“I believe, leaving this mortal world will not diminish the love and affection showered on late Basar and his family by the people and his soul will remain immortal, so would his footsteps and the contributions made as a social activist and politician par excellence,” Khandu added while praying Lord Buddha to bestow Late Basar’s family and relatives with strength to bear the irreparable loss and for peace of the departed soul.
