Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed shock and grief over the sudden demise of former Member of the State Legislative Assembly Lokam Tado, who breathed his last today at his residence here at Chimpu.
Khandu, who is on tour of Anjaw district, conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and the people, especially those of 7-Koloriang (ST) Assembly constituency in Kurung Kumey district, whom he represented in the Legislative Assembly from 1980 to 1984.
Son of Late Lokam Tarin, he had succeeded Late Chera Talo, the then elected representative of the constituency in 1980 when the strength of the Legislative Assembly was only 33. While 30 were elected representatives, 3 were nominated during the Union Territory days of the state.
In his condolence message, Khandu said, “Late Tado was a very gentle, soft-spoken, hardworking and a dedicated first generation leader of the state. In his demise not only the Nysihi community has lost one of its luminaries, the state’s nascent political history has also lost a chapter.”
“On behalf of the people, I convey my deep condolences to the members of his family, friends and well wishers. I pray for his soul to rest in eternal peace,” Khandu added.
Late Lokam Tado is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.
Tado, born on 1st January 1955 at Village Saitam in Damin Circle of 21 Koloriang Assembly Constituency of earths while Lower Subansiri district now as Kurung .
Tado who started his political career and contested assembly election in 1978 from PPA party and again in 1980 from INC Party and become MLA. He hailed several political and other post in various social welfare organisation of state. He played various role in different field of social service and community development of state in general in Kurung Kumey distrait and state level. Tado was not feeling well and died of brief illness due to stroke.
Family members Dr. Lokam Dominic said that Late Tado was a straight forward and man of principle, maintain simple living and love small children’s. His services to the community and state will always be remembered by all. He was survived with his wife Lokam Sikio 2 son and 2 daughters.
In a condolence message Lokam Welfare Society (LWS) Chairman Lokam Mangha said that Late Lokam Tado was true gentleman, good father, good brother as well. He was torch bearers of Lokam community and founded Lokam Welfare Society (LWS) in 2003.
Mangha said that we have lost our true guardian and it is hard to refill the vacuum created by his demise.
Former Chief Minister and Sagalee MLA Nabam Tuki in a condolence message to this daily said that his demise is a great loss for the people of state. Late Tado was a man of principle and will always be remembered for his simplicity.
Former Minister and PPA President Kafha Bengia in a condolence message said that Late Tado follow the true spirit of nationalism. ‘Vande Matram’ was his favourite song.
His demise is a great irreparable loss for the family, society and state as whole. the release added.
Parliamentary Secretary (Home & Education) and Koloriang MLA Pani Taram while condoling the death of Late Lokam Tado said that it is a sad news for the people of Kurung Kumey district.
In a condolence message to the bereaved family Taram said the demise is irreparable loss for the Koloriang assembly constituency and would take much time to refill the gap. He was a popular figure and maintain simple living which was liked by all. Taram added.
Former Koloriang MLA Lokam Tassar while condoling the demise of Late Lokam Tado said that he was a state level footballer in the year 1975. He contested the first assembly election from 7–Koloriang Assembly constituency in the year 1977 where he lost. In 1980 after President rule he got elected from INC party. In 1984 he left away with Assembly and unsuccessfully contested as MP from 1 Arunachal West Parliamentary Constituency on Janata Party ticket.
Tassar said that Late Tado was a truthful gentleman in principle and man of practical and have lost a senior guide. His demise and vacuum created would not be filled soon.
All Kurung Kumey District Students Union (AKKDSU) and Koloriang Damin, Parsi Parlo & Sarli Students Union (KDPSSU) also condole the demise of Late Tado. In a message AKKDSU President Bengia Anthony & KDPSSU General Secretary Bialok Bai said that his sudden death is a great loss to the district and state as a whole. His simple living and good thought will always be remembered by the youths of the state.
Itanagar Market Welfare Association (IMWA) Yumlam Achung also condole the death of former MLA Lokam Tado. Achung while said that sudden demise is a great loss to teh society and state. He will always be remembers for his good works for the community and state.
