Civic Action Programme by BSF

Border Security Force Unit under Guwahati Frontier organized two Civic Action Programmes in the bordering areas of Coochbehar Sector on 4 Feb 2017 in a series of such events being conducted on regular basis to win the hearts and minds of the border population.

On 4th Feb 2017, a 15-days pre-recruitment training programme, for selection into various recruitment opportunities in CAPFs/Defence Forces, was started by 124 Bn BSF, under Sector HQ Coochbehar, for the youths of bordering village in Kharija Haridas, PS Dinhata, Distt Coochbehar. these youths were provided shoes, track-suits, training aids, refreshments and stationary items during this training schedule. Training will be imparted by BSF training team of the unit in which their endeavor will be to orient them physically and mentally for various recruitment rallies being conducted by all Forces. The programme was inaugurated with much fanfare by Sh Parminder Singh, Commandant of the unit in the presence of the Gram Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Members, village elders and the trainees.

Besides, 20 students of various schools of Karala village in Coochbehar, which is a remote border village with less access to the development in the hinterland, are undergoing a Basic Computer Course, which is being arranged by 124 Bn BSF. The 15 days programme will be run by experts hired by BSF. This programme was also inaugurated by the Commandant of the battalion in the presence of village elders, local Panchayat officials and the trainees

On both the occasions the village elders and the Panchayat officials appreciated the efforts of BSF to uplift the condition of the youths of these remote bordering villages. They also hoped that BSF would continue to support them in the coming future. Sh Parminder Singh, Commandant 124 Bn BSF urged upon the youths to work hard and with dedication during the training programmes to gain maximum benefit. He thanked those present in the programmes for making them successful. These programmes generate good will for BSF amongst the villagers and besides benefitting from them, they work towards enhancing the efficiency of the Force by cooperation and coordination.
