Civic Action Programme by BSF

photo-2Through the Civic Action Programme, the Border Security Force has consistently made an effort to create a feeling of oneness, security and belonging in the border population. In this  line a  programme was organised by the 53 Bn BSF on 11 Dec 2015 in Patherkandi block of district Karimganj in Haji Yusuf Ali Middle School and Qazi Kasim High School, Lakhipur. Around 700 school children attended this lively event which was presided over by Shri Sanjiv Joshi, Commandant, 53 Bn BSF. Also present were Head Master of Qazi Qasim High School, Shri Abdul Shakur, President of Qazi Qasim High School Shri Abdul Hussein, Head Master of Haji Yusuf Ali Middle School, Shri Ahmed Hussein and BSF personnel deployed on border duties. The event was inaugurated with the ceremonial ribbon cutting by Sh Sanjiv Joshi. The school children then presented the Bordermen and those present with a cultural programme which was enjoyed by all.

Among the items that were distributed were Syntex water storage tanks, water filters, plastic tables and chairs, wall clocks, pencil boxes, lunch boxes, footballs and volleyballs.

In his address to the gathering, Shri Sanjiv Joshi stressed upon the need for the border population and the BSF to work together towards maintaining peace and harmony. He said it is only when our children grow up in such an atmosphere that the nation can truly progress and take its place among the developed nations.
