Committing to its decision to make the Divisional Commissioners, East and West functional from its respective headquarters, Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein reiterated to shift the zonal office of Chief Engineers of various Work Departments under Eastern Division to their designated headquarters within December. He stressed this in a meeting with the Chief Engineers of all Departments under Eastern Zone this evening.
The directives had already been given to all the Chief Engineers by the Govt in consonant with the two rounds of meeting taken by the Group of Ministers earlier under the chairmanship of the Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein where it was decided that they should be shifted to their designated headquarters at Namsai, Miao, Tezu and Pasighat.
Mein said that the fund requires for infrastructure development for zonal office and residential quarters shall be made available in phase wise manner and asked them to shift their offices immediately with bare facilities in the initial stage.
He said, “there will be some difficulties in the initial stage but we have to face it one or the other day” and added that in the days of modern technology, working system become less cumbersome.
Commissioner PWD, Bilatee Pertin was also present in the meeting besides the Chief Engineers.
