Chowna Mein asked DC, expedite restoration work of Trans-Arunachal Highway

On learning that the road from Pasighat to Pangging has been snapped away for the last two days due to landslide along the Trans-Arunachal highway near Rottung, Deputy Chief Minister’s Office (DCMO) enquired from Deputy Commissioner Siang district today to take stock of the restoration work.
Dy CM Chowna Mein asked the DC Siang to expedite the restoration work of damaged portion of Trans-Arunachal Highway and to restore the road communication as early as possible. He asked DC to engage men and machinery and to place police personnel and engineers on the spot to see that no untoward incident happens. He asked to facilitate the commuters and to ensure their well being and safety.
Meanwhile, Rahul Singh, DC Siang informed that the restoration work is in full swing and the men and machinery of TK Engineering has been put into service and road would be restored within a week. However, the heavy rainfall is hindering the restoration work. In the meantime, an alternate road is being planned, informed DC Siang.
