Chief Minister Kalikho Pul made an impromptu visit to the government higher secondary school to take stock of the various issues on the second day of his two day visit to Tezu.

On inspection, he found that none of the pipe had flowing water, all the toilet rooms were in unhygienic conditions and were surrounded by thick jungle bush. The Chief Minister instructed the school principal Eving Lego to conduct social service for the school every Saturday and asked the Tezu Deputy Commissioner Danish Ashraf to ensure its regular conduct.

The Chief Minister also went to the academic building to inspect the condition of the principal’s chamber, staff room, classrooms and the school auditorium.

On inspection it was found that the school infrastructure had outlived its life; the wooden floors were creaking and were broken and the ceilings were also all perforated. The building walls were in dilapidated conditions with broken windows and glasses.

The Chief Minister also inspected the hostel facilities of the school. He first visited the girls hostel. He also took note of the living conditions, its kitchen and the toilet facilities.

Each living room was greatly congested and students had erected temporary partitions with the kitchen and toilet conditions in shambles. The toilet had no running water and kitchen lacked enough rooms.
