BSF Seized 21 Cattle While Being Smuggled to Bangladesh

Where the smugglers are desperate to smuggle the cattle towards neighbouring country Bangladesh the alert sentinels of border are posing real hindrance in their ill designs to foil their motives. In one of the incident, the BSF troops of Duplipara, South Garo Hills Distt, seized 21 nos of cattle while being smuggled to Bangladesh. The BSF troops have been making frequent seizures at borders of Meghalaya. In a similar instance attempt of smugglers was foiled in Sibbari area also where 9 more cattle were seized.

The rise in cattle smuggling is cause of concern to the forces deployed on the border as sometimes it causes a serious threat to the security of villagers and their property. The BSF troops too face a great difficulty while collecting the running cattle. These smugglers even involve in the act of fence breach while smuggling the cattle to Bangladesh. The fact remains that, the cattle smugglers are still managing to transport these cattle from hinterland.

 In addition, the BSF has also seized 243 Cattle, approx. 958 Cft Wooden logs, Ganja 7.2 Kgs, country made wooden boat 9 nos, BD Taka 3,45,443/- Liquor 1871 bttls, and other contraband items worth more than 88 Lacs, while being smuggled out from India to Bangladesh on the International Border along Meghalaya during last one month.

All the seized items handed over to concern department for further legal action.
