The BSF nabbed two Indian cattle smugglers with two nos of cattle on International Border in Eask Khasi hills , while being smuggled from India to Bangladesh. The cattle were laden in a Alto Car . The cattle smugglers identified Sonwell (17 yrs) and Jewellson Kharwan ( 18 yrs) . Both are resident of Meghalaya. BSF seized Alto Car, two mobile phones with Indian SIM card and Indian currency Rs. 4380/- from their possession.
It is mention that carrying the cattle in such a small vehicle is cruelty against the animals. Prices of cattle have gone up in recent months after the BSF checked the illegal supply channels to Bangladesh. The BSF has continuously been in its drive against the Cattle smugglers. The Border Security Force has intensified its operations on the Indo-Bangladesh Border to prevent Trans-border crimes.
In another incident BSF seized 19 Nos cattle from west khasi hills while being smuggled out to Bangladesh from India. The smugglers managed to escape taking the advantage of darkness and dense bushes. Smugglers are using different disguised techniques to smuggle the cattle from India to Bangladesh but BSF troops are alert and well trained to foil such attempts of smugglers.
