Deputy Commissioner Sonal Swaroop today paid an surprised visit to GHSS Bomdila with DDSE DW Kharma during the class hours. After visiting and interacting with the students of all the sections of C/X to XII, she was seen taking a period of C/XII science class. Incidentally, she happens to be a gold medalist in MBBS. With the district scoring as low as 43% and 53% in C/X and XII respectively this year, it remains to be seen the sea changes that ought to be brought in the teaching-learning process, governance and administration. Though it may seem to be a herculean task, concerted effort, team work, discipline and quality education with change in one’s mindset could go a long way in changing the educational scenario of the district.
In the recent past, just after taking over the reins of the district administration in April last, DC Sonal Swaroop succeeded in streamlining and overhauling the working system of the District hospital, Bomdila to the great relief of the patients and attendants especially coming from the outposts.
Now embarking on to improve the educational scenario of the district, DC Sonal has paid numerous unannounced visits to schools in the district. She has been instrumental in rationalizing the postings of the teachers in the Nafra-Bomdila block. But much more remains desired which could be achieved if there is a political will.
