Ban of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denominations- CS asks people not to panic

The Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh Shakuntala Gamlin convened a press conference on Wednesday and ask the people not to panic with the Govt decision to ban Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denominations. She told the media persons that they should create awareness among the people on the scenario of financial transaction in the aftermath of GoI’s drastic action to ban Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denominations.

The press conference comes close on the heels of the PM’s Modi announcement to ban on the circulation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000. She said that some relaxation had been made in places like hospitals, graveyards, market areas where the farmers sell their produces. She said that there should be no rumour mongering and asked the people not to panic adding that adequate and elaborate security arrangements had been made in the banks premises, hospitals, post offices and other vulnerable places.

The chief secretary reiterated that no breach of law and order would be tolerated saying that the problem was only for a time being and that things would return to normalcy. While appreciating the initiative of GoI, she asked the people to appreciate the problems arising out of the watershed decision.

The DGP Sandeep Goel who was also presence in the press conference assured that the State Police was fully prepared to face any eventuality.

Among others, Principal Secretary Home Satya Gopal, Secretary Tax & Excise B.M.Mishra, Special Secretary IPR Mitalee Namchoom and Director IPR  Obang Tayeng were present.
