Arunachal : Capital police seizes huge amount of Ganja, detained 4 person

After receiving a specific information, Capital police raided several places around Itanagar, the capital city of Aruncahal Pradesh and seized huge amount of Ganja,  detained four persons involved in ganja selling.

Day long raids were conducted, at credible information received from reliable sources about the selling of Cannabis (Ganja) at various places in the district, by the team of Capital Police comprising of Itanagar Police Station Officer Incharge  Tabi Bage, SI N.Nishant, SI G. Tape, L/SI K. Sai, ASI A.K Jha, IRBN Jawans and L/ Constables led by SDPO Itanagar Kamdam Sikom under the close supervision of Capital SP Sagar Singh Kalsi. Starting with 2 shops near Tempo Stand A Sector Itanagar, the team seized 11 Kgs of Cannabis  ( Ganja) and detained two women from the spot for selling the Ganja. On interrogation, the main supplier was identified, and was successfully nabbed this afternoon by placing a trap.

From Tarajuli area near Yupia one person was detained and 124 Kgs of Cannabis was seized from his possession and later he revealed the name and the address of the owner of the seized items. Incidentally the main supplier is also a lady and when nabbed she submitted that she has many customers in Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Doimuk area.

A total of 135 Kgs of Cannabis (Ganja) have been seized by Capital Police from different locations and 1 male and 3 females have been detained. A case has been registered vide Ita PS, Case No. 100/18 u/s 22(c) NDPS Act and the investigation is still on and Capital Police is on their toes to nab the owners of the shops who sells this prohibited item.

Talking to this daily, SP Sagar Singh cleared that Police has a zero tolerance policy towards all kinds of drugs circulating in the district and that campaigns are being started in schools and colleges to involve youth in the fight against drugs.

The staff is being suitably rewarded to keep up their motivation to carry out good work further. SDPO K.Sikom warns all the shop owners who sells cannabis, if found selling then appropriate legal action will be taken against the shop owners. He informed that more and more raids will be conducted along with strict Naka checking.
