Arunachal:  Ziro ready for 3rd Nyishi-Apatani summit

Ziro, the land of beautiful valley in Arunachal, is ready to hold 3rd Nyishi Apatani Summit on 20th Sep, 2018.

The land of beautiful valley and hospitality character in nature of  Ziro people, the head Quarter of mother districts of five districts, Upper Subansiri, Kamle, Kra Daadi, Kurung Kumey and Papum Pare are all set to celebrate the 3rd Nyishi Apatani Summit Anniversary Celebration on 20th September 2018  at Nago Putu, Dree ground Ziro.

It is worthy to mention here that the two communities, the Nyishi and Apatani had a very strong social bonding, popularly known as  Manyang/Manyn/Ajin or Gyotu/Gotung Ajin, and both belongs to descendants of Abo Tani group. In other words, this is unique reciprocity in social practices of interdependent between the two communities existed since time immemorial with well-knit barter trade economy.

To strengthening the age old relation of Apatani and Nyishi, the great descendants of Abo Tani group, the Nyishi Apatani Summit had signed historic agreement on 20th September 2015 at Ziro where many social resolutions were adopted by both the community towards cementing strong bonded relations of both communities in presence of who’s who of Nyishi and Apatani and all community based organisations of AP.

Some of resolutions of the summit includes encouragement of Manyang/Manyn/Gotu/Gotung Ajin, Not to allow any vested interest  and individual issues to paint with communal colour, To strictly denounced traditional system of revenge, To encourage inter-Tribe marriage, To maintain age old boundary etc.

Nyishi Elite Society and Tanw Supuñ Dukuñ shall closely work together in  implementing resolutions adopted in the said summit including naming of appropriate place in name of Late Kapu Tajam.

Heri Maring, General Secretary Nyishi Elite Society and Prof. P.G. Tago, General Secretary Tanw Supuñ Dukuñ visited Dree ground, Nago Putu, Ziro, the venue and satisfied with the preparation made for 3rd NAS  Anniversary Celebration on 20th September 2018.

Delegates from East Kameng, Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, Kamle, Kra Daadi, Kurung Kumey and some parts of Assam are attending the celebration. Extempore speech, Nyishi in Apatani and Apatani in Nyishi dialects and cultural programme will be the other highlight of the events.
