Arunachal: Yab Sera led to rest, thousand take part

Sera who was among the first batch of teachers from Nyishi community and social worker passed away yesterday at GNRC, Guwahati after a prolong illness.

The mortal remain of Goan Bura and Senior citizen/social worker Yab Sera of Rono Village was laid to rest at his residence. Thousands including public leaders, officers and general public paid their tributes and condolences.

Sera who was among the first batch of teachers from Nyishi community and social worker passed away yesterday at GNRC, Guwahati after a prolong illness.

Local MLA Tana Hali Tara also paid floral tribute and condole the death of one of the senior members of the society. He counted his several social welfare activities and said that he will always be remembered by the teaching community and Goan Bura communities of the area for his work done.

Sangalee MLA Nabam Tuki also paid a floral tribute and expressed the instrumental service Sera had rendered especially in educational field. He recollected his professionalism and disciplined nature who also prioritized for grooming the students. “I will have a good memory of him and I considered myself lucky to be his one of the students,” said Tuki stating he was always strict and discipline in his career as teacher.

Former Minister Nabam Rebia also paid a floral tribute and termed him as a social worker who will be remembered for his good works for social cause.

Some of his former students also paid their tribute and condolence to the family members.

Yab Basu, CK Yab (son) and other family members were present and shared the life and achievement of his father to the gathering present. Prayers were conducted and later the mortal was laid to rest.

Senior officers from Accounts and Treasuries, AP Civil Secretariat, Teaching community of Doimukh circle, officers and staffs of NEEPCO, NERIST, RGU, friends, relatives, well-wishers, Executive Members of Camdir Welfare Society (CWS) and large numbers of local people of the area were present on the occasion.
