Arunachal: week-long Gumkum Gumpa festival of Puroik community concludes

Gumkum Gumpa festival of Puroik community of Arunachal Pradesh celebrated since April 19 with traditional fever concluded here at Nikum Niya general ground today

Addressing the gathering as chief guest Koloriang MLA Pani Taram said that the festival is being celebrated for long years since 1976 have lots of meaning and messages on the unification and social upliftment of the community which have been backward since long.

He said that the state having 120 tribes which include 26 major tribes and others and every tribes have its rich cultural heritage and traditional and costumes.

The state government is providing all facilities for the up gradation of the community and central government too doing its best effort. The  government have establish a Welfare Board for the development and up gradation of the community .

Referring the 21 Koloriang Assembly Constituency Taram said that he have been trying the best for the up gradation and development of the community and the area where they are residing . Road communication is under progress, power supply have been done while water and other infrastructure are being done which are under progress.

He advice all younger generation and youths to work hard and come forward to serve the society and get name and fame and compete other community, government will support you . He  appeal the community leaders to fulfil the needs and aspiration of the people.

Stating Gumkum Gumpa a festival need to advertised among other community and its importance need to be delivered so that other people also know about the Puroik community and its activities.

Prizes were distributed of the games and sports and cultural competitions  held since April 19 onwards by the dignitaries.
