Arunachal: TDDC demands creation of Tuting district

A delegation of more than 50 members of the Tuting District Demand Committee (TDDC) calls upon Chief Minister, Pema Khandu at his office chamber on Thursday and placed their demand for creation of Tuting district.

The delegation leads by Nima Sangey and  Allu Duggong in the capacity of Chairman and General Secretary of the committee submitted the one point memorandum to the Chief Minister for creation of separate District for Tuting Sub-Division bifurcating from Upper Siang District.

The committee first met the local MLA and Minister (Health and Rural Development),  Alo Libang in the afternoon.  Alo Libang wholeheartly welcomed the delegation and also accompanied the delegation to the CMO. He emphasized that as a representative of the people of Tuting subdivision, he shall speak up for the welfare of the people of his constituency.

Chairman TDDC Nima Sangey briefed the Chief Minister Pema Khandu about the long pending demand of the citizen of the Tuting Subdivison for having a separate district of its own. He also touches upon the point that the proposed Tuting District to be bifurcated from the current Upper Siang which is one of the largest district in the state. The proposed Tuting District is peacefully inhabited by Adis, Memba, Khambas and Idu Mishmis, with more than 12,000 inhabitants under five numbers of administrative circles, having more than 60  villages, with 3 ZPMs, 17 ASMs, 63 GPMs and about 4210 Sqkms of area.

The proposed district has one of the longest international boundary with Chinese government (about 150 Kms), therefore having administrative at Tuting has become need of the hour both for the state and the country.

He also emphasis upon the tourism potential of the area naming few such as Pema Kod  and Polo Yorve etc. which is untapped due to poor air and surface connectivity.

After a patience hearing, Chief Minister, address the delegation about of the vision of the state government. He also expressed upon the financial constraints of the state government for smooth functioning of the District Headquarters.

The chief minister  emphasis that development is the first and last agenda of his government and shall not let any stone unturned in the way of development of the.
