Arunachal: Tana Hali launched Swachh Survekshan Grameen for Papum Pare

The Swachh Survekshan Grameen (SSG) 2019 for the Papum Pare district was launched here on Tuesday at Rono ground. The programme was organised by PHE & WS division Yupia.

Doimukh constituency MLA Tana Hali Tara along with Yupia Additional deputy commissioner Tabang Bodung and other officials, HODs of the circle were present on the occasion.

On this occasion Hali said cleanliness is directly related to climate change and global warming. “We polluting our rivers, surroundings and destroying the forests for personal gains without worrying about consequences.   This has led to increase in temperature and everyone can feel the negative effect of climate change. Therefore cleanliness besides keeping us healthy also helps in saving the environment,” said MLA.

He appealed to the people to keep river and streams clean, because most of the diseases born from the water source. He requested the gathering to motivate their family members and other people to properly dispose the garbage and keep the villages and towns clean.

Capital PHED Circle superintendent of engineer (SE) elaborating the importance of SSG,  urged everyone to join hand together to make Papum Pare (PP) as one of the cleanest district of the country.

 “Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Swacch Bharat Abhiyan movement on 2nd October 2014 to fulfil the Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of clean India by 2nd October 2019 coinciding with the 150th birth anniversary of the father of nation. Our state achieved open defecation free (ODF) status in 2017.

The government of India has entrusted an independent agency to carry out survey (SCG) to find out whether the cleanliness level has been maintained or it has dropped,” the SE informed. He urged people to be part of this movement by maintaining cleanliness of surrounding and also by giving regular feedback.

Earlier the ADC Yupia Tabang Bodung praised the effort of PHE & WS Yupia division in the cleanliness movement, Executive engineer (EE) PHE & WS division Yupia division, Tadar Ukap sought cooperation of people to keep Papum Pare district clean.

On the occasion dustbins were distributed to the beneficiaries. The dignitaries also planted saplings in and around Rono ground.
