Directorate of Youth Affairs, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, In collaboration with Arunachal Cycling Association (ACA) is organising two days Workshop on Mountain Terrain Bike ( MTB) Cycling at Sangey Lhaden Sports Academy, Chimpu today.
Sports Authority of Arunachal (SAA) Chairman Bamang Tago while addressing the function as chief guest said that benefits of cycling and conservation of environment through cycling, cycling increased cardiovascular fitness, increased muscle strength and flexibility, improved joint mobility, decreased stress levels, reduced anxiety and depression. He also appeals the public to have cycling culture at the capitol complex to reduce transportation emissions while also reducing traffic congestion.
Four resource from Guwahati is conducting the workshop cum training for the first time in Arunachal Pradesh to promote cycling in the State as Arunachal Pradesh is bestowed with huge potential for MTB cycling.
Director Sports Tadar Appa, Director Sports Authority of Arunachal Pradesh Gumya Karbak, Arunachal Cycling Association Gen. Secy Tadar Gunu & his executive members. Youth Affairs Jt. Director Ramesh Linggi, Sangey Lhaden, Sports Academy Principal Tabia Chobin, teachers & Coaches of and officers & officials of both the Directorate of Sports and Youths Affairs were present during the inaugural function and 30 youths from Arunachal Pradesh attended the workshop.
A mass ride programme will also be conducted on 28th August 2018 starting from SLSA ground and covering Jullang, Naharlagun, Shiv Mandir, Ganga and back to SALA Chimpu to promote the cycling culture in the State.
The Biggest & hardest National level MTB competition of the 2nd edition of “MTB Tawang Challenge” organized by of Directorate of Youth affairs & Arunachal Cycling association will be commence from 22nd to 28th Oct 2018 coincide with Tawang Festival.
