Changlang-  RKMSS hold meeting with SHG   

Miss Komoli Mosang, Chairperson, RK Mossang Memorial Society with staff visited the poultry farm of Hetlong SHG of women on Thursdau. Members of Hetlong and Chunsan SHGs and villagers had organized two meetings where participants, NGO staff and Miss Mosang shared village issues on economic development, education, health and women empowerment. It is part of the programs of NERCORMP, Changlang (a sister concern of the DoNER Ministry, India)

Likabali-  Marathon race titled ‘Soldierathon’

A marathon race titled ‘Soldierathon’ was organized in Lower Siang district by the Indian Army’s Spearhead Division on 30 March. The event was organized to strengthen the bonhomie and esprit-de-corps in army personnel, and to generate health awareness among the families of the army men.
Tributes were also paid to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The event was mainly held in two categories – 10 km and 20 km – and saw the participation of runners from 25 to 50 years of age. The women and children participated in the 4 km category.

Ruksin- Man killed by Elephant 

A man was killed by a wild elephant in Upper Jampani (Selek Bungkeng) in East Siang district on Thursday night. The man, identified as Durga Bahadur Chetry (55), was killed by the elephant while he and his family were taking meal at his wooden farmhouse, around 8.30 pm. The other members of the family managed to escape. The wild elephant destroyed eight farmhouses and three cattle sheds. The elephant, which got separated from the herd, is reportedly roaming around near human habitation near Daying Ering Wildlife Sanctuary, creating panic among the people.

Roing-  Action against Drug Menace

The villagers of Intaya village sprang into action as soon as they learned that the drug menace had entered their village. The villagers recently held a meeting, chaired by former ZPM Namo Linggi, in order to discuss the issue and come up with ways to fight the menace. Reportedly, suspected drug peddlers, drug abusers, and some persons who allowed young addicts to use their houses as dens were identified. The villagers then visited each suspect in person to warn them against peddling and abusing drugs. Those who allowed youngsters to use their houses to consume drugs were also warned to stop the practice.

Aalo- Platation Drive

The Aalo Forest Division led by DFO Abhinav Kumar went out all out to carry massive plantation drive at the top of Bahadur Hill amid security on Thursday. This plantation drive was done on prime forest land running  into several hectares which have been converted into jhum land. The effort  by Aalo Forest Division is seen as an step towards protecting this once pristine forest land from rampant encroachment wherefrom one can take a full view of Aalo town.

Itanagar- Blood Donation

The Blood Donation Camp organised by the District Administration Capital Complex in collaboration with Arunachal Voluntary Blood Donors Organization (AVBDO) was held today at RKM Hospital with participation of people from every walks of life.  The Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex Prince Dhawan stressed that blood donation is such a noble cause and everyone should come forward and donate. He urged all the denizens of the state to stand united for such causes.

Itanagar-  DC inaugurated Kebang House 

The newly renovated Mel/ Nyel/ Kebang House was inaugurated on Thursday by the Deputy Commissioner Capital Complex Prince Dhawan.  Highlighting the importance of Mel House as per the customary law of the state, the DC urged upon the Gaon Burahs, Gaon Buris and PIs to maintain the sanctity of the Mel House. The DC also urged them to continue with their service with sincerity and dedication.  The SP Capital also lauded the role of Mel house which acts as a local court and helps solve disputes at their own level thereby contributing to the society.
