Longding:  Marathon Race

The department of district sports and youth affairs under the aegis of district administration Longding conduct open marathon race “RUN FOR SPORTS” for men and women of the district here on Friday. The sole objective of this program is to promote sports in the entire district and state at large. It aims to instil in the people, especially the youth, a strong determination to participate in sports activities and thereby awaken and rejuvenate the importance of sports in one’s life. Hundreds of men and women from the district enthusiastically took part in the event.

Pasighat – Sonowal attends Ali Aye Ligang

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal took part  in the three days Mega Ali Aye Ligang festival being celebrated jointly by Adi and Mishing communities at Bakkul under Mebo subdivision in East Siang district.  He appealed the Mishing community to preserve own culture in its truest form and urged them to prevent its dilution from the onslaught of modernity. Ali Aye Ligang is a festival of Mishing community associated with agriculture and such celebration would strengthen the relations between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, he asserted.

Nyapin- Mass Tree plantation

A mass tree plantation programme on the occasion of Nyokum Yullo festival-2018 was carried out across Nyapin Township in Kurung Kumey district on Saturday with the theme, ‘Green & Clean Nyapin and Stop Global Warming’. Nyapin ADC Kento Riba, department staffs, school students, and public joined the mass tree plantation programme spearheaded by Nyokum Yullo Celebration Committee Nyapin-2018. A total of 550 saplings were planted at the premises of ADC Office, Inspection Bungalow, Tadar Tang Memorial Community Health Centre, Government Higher Secondary School, and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya.

Itanagar- State Board Examination

 The  Arunachal Pradesh State Board Examination, 2017-18 for classes V and VIII will be conducted from April 2 to 7 in all Govt schools of the State including Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs). For this purpose, State Level Board and District Level Board have already been constituted. However, the entire private unaided recognized schools and Govt-aided schools shall be exempted from the State Board Examination only for this academic session, informed the Secretary Education Dr Madhu Rani Teotia. Moreover, third language paper is also excluded from the purview of the Board Exam for class VIII for this year, she added.

Tabo Sora – DFP awareness campaign

West Siang Zila Parishad Chairperson Y Bagra terming special outreach programme, conducted by Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP), as educative and informative in rural areas, said that rural masses were ignorant of many health schemes introduced  by the GoAP to uplift weaker sections of the society. Addressing participants of a programme on ‘Mission Indradhanush, Mission Parivar Vikash, TB/leprosy’ in West Siang district here, she said that every individual should benefit from such schemes, according to a DPF Aalo unit release.

Itanagar- Training on Mushroom Cultivation

CSIR-North East Institute of Science & Technology Branch Itanagar organised a training programme on cultivation of mushroom at Pachin colony today.  Senior technical officer Dr. Budhen Ch Baruah highlighted the medicinal and food value of edible mushrooms and also emphasized on its organised cultivation for self sustenance as well as societal development. Practical demonstration on preparation of mushroom bags and free mushroom spawn were distributed to participants for trial cultivation.
