Seppa – Survey for paragliding

As part of a survey to explore the potential for adventure tourism in the area, a test paragliding flight was conducted at Papu Valley here in East Kameng district recently. The gliders took off from Lumdung helipad and landed on the bank of the Papu river. The survey team was led by Arunachal Paragliding Association president Vijay Sonam and secretary Niku Tara, along with Suren Gurung from Nepal and Raju Rai and Aita Raj Subbah from Sikkim. The survey team identified the take-off and landing sites.

Tawang- District Hospital gets Kayakalp Award 

District Hospital, Tawang has been adjudged as the best public health facility of the State under the Kayakalp programme and was conferred with a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh alongwith a citation. The award was presented by Special Secretary, Health & Family Welfare-cum-Mission Director (NHM) Dr Tapasya Raghav and Director of Family Welfare Dr Kabang Lego in the State level Kayakalp Awards ceremony held at Naharlagun on Friday.

Bomdila- Cultural  cum Conference Hall at Buddha Park

Bomdila MLA  Japu Deru on Friday inaugurated  Buddhist Cultural cum conference hall of Buddha park in West kameng District.  MLA contributed a sum of Rupees Fifty Lakh from his MLADF in Year 2015-16 for the construction of this hall, beside the contribution of the community and Society. the hall reflect a traditional Buddhist architecture with conference Hall and on first floor there is a space for meeting Hall and accommodation for the monks and lamas.

Seppa-  Campaign for safe riding

With an aim to promote safe riding among commercial and private vehicles, an awareness campaign which was launched by the East Kameng District Transport Office on March 22 ended successfully at Seppa town here on Friday. The campaign mainly focused on the growing traffic menace in the town and to generate awareness on road safety. The campaign was joined by the District Transport Officer (DTO) Nondo Doka and Motor Vehicle Officer (MVI) Dambing Lamnio on the concluding day.

Pangin- DEC Meeting

A meeting of the District Executive Committee, Siang District was held at Pangin under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Rahul Singh to scrutinise various cases of agricultural and horticultural crop losses,  livestock loss,  fire accident cases and other losses incurred due to natural calamities in the district.  After detailed scrutiny and deliberation on the basis of prescribed guidelines with active participation from all members,  grant of assistance was finalized for many crop loss cases of farmers who suffered heavy damages due to torrential rainfall and floods and also for many fire accident cases and other damages.

Seppa-  Meyuk Cheda elected unopposed as Zilla Parishad Chairperson

Smti Meyuk Cheda is elected unopposed as new Zilla Parishad Chairperson of 03-East Kameng Zilla Parishad. Oath taking ceremony was formally held on Fridayy at Panchayat Office, Seppa. The oath to the new ZPC was administered by the East Kameng DC Gaurav Singh Rajawat. Meyuk Cheda is wife of Rojo Cheda hailing from Cheda village of Pipu circle of East Kameng district. She was elected as ZPM from 03-Pipu Anchal Samiti in 2013 panchayat election.

Yupia- Rebia convened a meeting with all HoDs

Minister for UD, Urban Planning, Land Management, Law and Justice etc convened an interaction meeting with all Head of Departments on Friday  at DC’s Conference hall. Mr  Rebia while addressing the HoDs said that main motive behind conducting the meeting was to discuss the preparedness among officers about the last state Budget 2018-19 announcements which are  very crucial for development of the area as all schemes are district based and scheme finalization will be done at district level only. All officers should ensure that DPR complete by March and April month itself for timely submission and its approval, he added.

Anjaw- Bio-Medical Waste Disposal System

The Deputy Commissioner, Anjaw, Smti M Riba as Chairperson the Advisory Committee, taking stock of various level of Bio-Medical Waste Disposal System in the district called upon the Medical Officers manning the various Medical Institutions to inculcate awareness in waste disposal, upgrade targeted training of stakeholders, and upscale immunization of relevant Health workers handling bio medical waste.
