Bomdila-  Level Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy

West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Dr Sonal Swaroop inaugurated the 2nd edition of the District Level Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy on Football and Volleyball for men and women at Buddha Stadium, Bomdila today. Speaking on the occasion, the DC urged the players to maintain the sportsmanship spirit throughout the tournament.

Leporiang- Free Medical camp at Leporiang

Free Medial camp and eye screening including dental checkups camp organised by NHPC in collaboration with RK Mission Hospital, Itanagar  at Leporiang under Sagalee Sub-divison on Saturday. More than 300 local people of Leporiang area were befitted from the camp. Medicines were also distributed free of cost.

Longding- 97 percent immunization coverage

Longding district achieved 97 per cent immunization coverage in the fourth and final round of the Intensive Mission Indradhanush (IMI), improving its earlier performance of 23.56% in the first phase, 70.34% in the second phase and 56.18% in the third phase. One of the main reasons for low immunization coverage earlier was reportedly due to incorrect data on headcount.

Khonsa-  awareness programme on Tobacco

The students of Government Secondary School Pinewood here were informed about the ill-effects of tobacco consumption during an awareness programme conducted by the Tirap District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC) on Monday. A team of experts from the DTCC, under the supervision of DPO Dr P Rakshit, informed the students of the consequences of using tobacco on one’s health and on the society.

Pangin-  Measles-Rubella Micro Plan

A Measles-Rubella Micro Plan review cum Core Committee meeting in connection with the upcoming Measles-Rubella vaccination campaign was held here today under the chairmanship of Siang district Deputy Commissioner Rahul Singh.  The DC, while assessing readiness of all departments and stakeholders being involved in the campaign, called for successful implementation of the MR campaign and to achieve cent percent coverage in the district.

Itanagar- Relief to fire victims

The Arunachal Vikas Parishad (AVP)’s Nagar Mahila Samiti led by its Prant Mahila Pramukh, Yamek Mize Taggu along with several members of its Papum Pare district unit distributed relief materials to the fire victims of Romi Colony here on January 20 last. The materials distributed included buckets, mugs, blankets, tea saucepan, glass, plates, and notebooks for school going children, T-shirts and trousers to all families.

Wakka- Men’s Badminton Tournament

The maiden Double Men’s Badminton Tournament 2018 was organised by Wakka Town Badminton Club (WTBC). Nokchop Pansa-Wangkap Wangsa duo beat Khamgang Gangsa- Ram Akhang by 3-2 sets in 5 sets grand finale of the tournament.   Gangsa was declared the best player of the tournament. WTBC convenor Goje Wangsa said that the event aimed at promoting sports by helping local youth to realize its importance as well as opium  eradication from Wakka. Wakka post commander Capt. Ajay of 16th Assam Rifles and Chongkhow chief Jato Wangham were chief guest and guest of honor of the event.
