Kharsang- Free HIV/AIDS screening test

R.K. Mossang Memorial Society through its Targeted Intervention Programme on Migrant population of Changlang District & Targeted Intervention Programme on FSW of Changlang District  organized a free health checkup cum HIV/AIDS screening test & Street play on HIV/AIDS awareness at Kharsang, on 19.2.18 and  20.2.18 to mark the 32nd  Statehood Day and with a vision to keep Changlang District an HIV/AIDS free. Blood of 74 nos. of traders of weekly market were screened and found negative. Street theater was performed by students where they pass the message how HIV/AIDS can be transmitted from one person to another & how it can be prevented.

Ziro- NSS Camp

A four-day training programme on life skills, leadership and personality development was conducted from 15 to 18 February by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, GoI and Regional Directorate of NSS, Guwahati, in collaboration with Arunodaya University, Itanagar. About 40 students were engaged in training sessions and numerous group activities by resource persons. A two day special camp was also conducted at Hija village, wherein cleanliness drives and awareness campaigns were organized on 17 to 18 February.

Yupia-   Legal service awareness campaign

A legal service awareness campaign was held on Wednesday at the Tigdo Middle School ground by the District Legal Service Authority of Papum Pare district here, in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Service Authority (APSLSA) of Itanagar and the district administration. APSLSA member secretary Budi Habung, who inaugurated the one day legal services camp, highlighted the benefits of legal service awareness camps.

Palin-  Government Degree College

The Government Degree College at Palin is set to be made functional from the next academic session, informed the All Kra Daadi District Students’ Union (AKDDSU) on Wednesday here at the press club.  Addressing reporters, the AKDDSU said that PHE & WS Minister Bamang Felix held a meeting on Wednesday and assured the union that their four-point demand has been considered by the government and action has already been initiated.  AKDDSU president Gora Rikam said that the union was also thankful to the government that a principal along with faculty members would be posted soon and the students would have a quality higher educational institute within the district.

Anjaw-  Vanaraja chicks distributed

Vanaraja chicks were distributed to selected farmers at Tafraliang (300 chicks) and Suplinag (200 chicks) villages here recently.  The farmers were earlier imparted training on poultry production and were distributed chicks as screening test to know the farmers who are really interested toward poultry farming. Of the 40 farmers, 10 farmers have come forward and asked for inputs assistance in the form of chicks, feeds and other equipment.

Khonsa- Review meeting for Martyr Hangpan Dada Memorial 

A review meeting in connection with construction of Memorial in respect of Martyr Hangpan Dada was held at DC’s chamber Khonsa in presence of Army Officer from Brigade, Administrative officers, PWD engineers and relatives of Martyr Hangpan Dada. In the meeting it was decided that Inauguration of Memorial in respect of Martyr Hangpan Dada will be done in first week of April 2018.

Pasighat-  Protest over shifting of Siang HQ 

As a mark of protest over the possible attempt to shift HQ of Siang District from notified permanent site Nyobo (Perang Lampang) and from Pangin (temporary HQ) to Boleng, several people boycotted the Statehood Day Tuesday also resolved to impose a 12 hour bandh from 5 am to 5 pm on 22nd Feb’2018. The meeting also observed that, the possible shifting of district HQ is dictated by Minister, Taga to the High Power committee to write the reports in favour of Boleng.

Pasighat- Free Medical Camp 

On the occasion of Statehood Day, the Indian Army’s Spear Head Division conducted a free medical camp at Stadium/general ground in Tuting, Upper Siang District on Tuesday for the local populace of Tuting and nearby villages. Beside the check up Army distributed  free medicines to the local population of Tuting and nearby villages and to help weaker section of society economically.
